Version 0.40 Changes

Build notes for version 0.40:

New Content and Changes:

Version 0.40 represents the completion of the base game.  All the updates have been made and all planned new content has been added.  The last content that needed updating was the amusement park, and that has been updated and expanded with new puzzles and attractions.  There is also a new coffee "joint" added.

Amusement Park changes: The idea here is that the amusement park is attached to a dead mall and the park is in disrepair itself.  Besides the "Dizzy" achievement, there are two new attractions: a new "Dark Ride" and a broken down fun house.

Coffee Joint:
This is nothing like a Starbucks, it is instead a throwback to a 1960's "beatnik" club, with a never ending poetry slam.  Basically, I wanted to do something along the lines of karaoke, but music rights are expensive, and poetry, especially poetry you write yourself is free. 

New content can be reached after dinner by having a post dinner glass of wine somewhere. The usual "Go for a drive" choice will then be replaced with "Call for a ride" since both you and Ariane have had too much to drink.

Other changes:  
Calling for a ride actually results in a car pulling up to Ariane's house. There are 3 new achievements associated with the new content.

Also, I am testing a new "help" section to integrate the walkthroughs into the game. At the main menu, click "Help", then click "Walkthroughs" you can then enable any of the 5 starting walkthroughs and start a new game. It will highlight the answers according to the walkthrough.  This is experimental, there are oddities like if you are in a game loop, it might highlight more than one option.  Usually picking them in order is the right answer, but not always.  Note: You can enable more than one at a time, but that defeats the purpose.

Updated Renders:

78 new images total. All but 6 are original.  A smaller update than usual, but original content takes longer to create, hence the delay in getting this out.

Priorities for next update (not completed yet but will be done next):

Two immediate things are to finish implementing the new walkthrough system for all 25 current walkthroughs and add some more for other content, and work on "Bonus" content that unlocks when you reach all 79 achievements.  These will also help me go through the game to find any hidden bugs.

Also on the list: Create a "Demo", create new web based walkthroughs, work on setting up for a Steam release, and finally set up a dedicated android port.

Progress so far: 1,472 images, not including animations or bonus material.
